As the year comes to a close, RESTXpress is about to get some significant improvements. (RESTXpress is an enterprise gateway to create and deploy REST proxy services that represent existing assets—databases and services, allowing easy and secure access from mobile apps.) In the next release due out this week, we’ll be adding two main new features:
- Using existing REST services as a basis for RESTXpress-generated REST services
Many users asked us for the option to present a subset only of an existing REST service. For instance, an existing REST service would usually allow more than the ability to just read data, but for some more public use one might only want there to be read access. With the next release, RESTXpress will allow making this kind of REST-based REST service.

Our Latest Webinar
Back in November we presented an overview of RESTXpress as a webinar (Overview of RESTXpress, November 13). Part of the presentation included a demo of the two new features. A recording of the webinar is available. The visual quality isn’t very good, but it’ll give you some idea of these new features.
