Last month, our wholly owned subsidiary, Appery, LLC, acquired the major assets of Verivo Software, a leading provider of enterprise mobility software. This will allow us to combine the best enterprise back-end server (from Verivo) with the leading cloud-based, low-code development platform (Appery.io) to create a superior agile end-to-end platform for IT and the lines of business within enterprises. Let’s review some of the key steps that have led up to this moment in Exadel’s ever-rising trajectory as a software leader. Read more »

“Mobile Field Service Apps: CRM, Workflow, Coverage Policies, and More in Your Pocket” is quite a mouthful for our webinar series, but it does cover a lot. All are recordings from the series are now available online:
The enterprise is going mobile more and more. The difference is in how quick and trouble-free the transition can be fore your particular business.
Verivo and Exadel have been partnering together to make seamless enterprise mobility happen for a variety of enterprise customers. Now we feel it’s time to share our experiences. We wanted to present a webinar together to help others see the benefits of enterprise mobility along with some lessons learned along the way, but we also wanted to make the information more digestible. So, we decided to break up the material into three brief 30-minute webinars. The series starts off April 1, then continues on April 7 and April 14, all at 11am Pacific time. Here’s our line-up so far:
RESTXpress is our REST API gateway that’s been making a lot of enterprise IT departments happy through it’s capability to quickly REST-ify corporate assets — such assets as SQL databases, SOAP services, existing REST services, Salesforce data, and internal workflows. In our latest version of RESTXpress, 3.1 (just released), we’ve added more features to the capability to represent internal workflows as REST services. Now, you can include “If” and “Fork” nodes in the flows to represent even richer business logic.
Both Exadel and Appery.io (our product) popped up in a recent article in eWEEK about codeless tools and platforms for mobile apps coming from “citizen developers.” Here’s the excerpt from the article.
Mobile app development environment provider Exadel’s Appery.io offers a cloud-based rapid development environment with integrated back-end services and a catalog of API plug-ins that simplify integration with cloud services and enterprise systems.
As part of its solution, Appery.io also features a no-code, RAD environment.
In mid-July, Exadel opened a new office in the west Ukrainian town of Vinnytsia, close to the Rumanian border. On September 13, we held an open house, “Exadel. Look Inside,” for local developers to come and see what kind of opportunities we have for them. It was quite successful. We’re very excited to welcome a new office for Exadel and look forward to a lot of good work coming from our Vinnytsia colleagues.

Our Appery.io product has experienced phenomenal growth lately as shown by these two key recently announced pieces of news:
- Expansion into the Asia/Pacific marketplace through a partnership with Zagama, a leading app development company in Asia, and, as part of this partnership, making the Appery.io cloud platform available as Appery.asia.
- We passed the 150,000 user mark! Congratulation to our 150,000th user, Min Choi, Senior Associate Designer at AXA.

New features: OpenID Support • OAuth Support • History • Snapshots
RESTXpress, our incredibly easy-to-use and powerful “REST-enablement” engine, has jumped up to another level again. In the new version 2.3, we’ve bolstered our security support for REST resources and our administrative capabilities. There are two new authentication options for adding security to RESTXpress-generated REST service, OpenID and OAuth. We’ve also added new tools for tracking administrative history and taking snapshots for backup and restore.

Updated: Changed to reflect 2d webinar on SQL to REST.
In a previous post, we discussed our series of upcoming webinars on RESTXpress. The first one, An Overview of RESTXpress, went quite well (recording). For the others, we had to readjust our original schedule. The next webinar will be:
Friday, March 21, 10:00AM Pacific Time
Here is the updated schedule for all of our upcoming webinars on RESTXpress: Read more »
To better educate and support our community of interest around RESTXpress, we’re going to try something a little different for webinars. Instead of going for a whole hour, we’ll have more webinars, but reduce them to 20 (30 at the most) minutes each. This should allow at least 15 minutes for the demo and 5 minutes for Q & A. The first one will of course be a quick overview of the most current version:
Thursday, February 6, 10:00AM Pacific Time
Here is our current schedule for all of our upcoming webinars: Read more »
Exadel’s Appery.io and RESTXpress products provide complementary support for enterprise mobilization that continues to get more notice.
Appery.io provides a complete mobile app development, development, and support platform, while RESTXpress provides a REST service gateway to a growing variety of enterprise assets. One dramatically eases the development of apps to consume REST services; the other makes it relatively simple to produce REST services out of existing enterprise assets to be consumed. Together, they cover both ends of any enterprise mobilization strategy, allowing the best integrated solution. And, the word continues to spread… Read more »
Our recently announced partnership with Heroku (a subsidiary of Salesforce) has continued to attract attention…very positive attention. Recently, Exadel’s vice president of marketing, Francisco Kattan, and founder and CEO, Fima Katz, talked to Heather Clancy for a story featured in ZDNet last week. The article did a nice job of showing how the Appery.io mobile app platform came out of Exadel’s experience and where it’s going. It also describes how our mobile service offerings complement the platform while the platform continues to grow.
As the year comes to a close, RESTXpress is about to get some significant improvements. (RESTXpress is an enterprise gateway to create and deploy REST proxy services that represent existing assets—databases and services, allowing easy and secure access from mobile apps.) In the next release due out this week, we’ll be adding two main new features:
- Using existing REST services as a basis for RESTXpress-generated REST services
We came up with RESTXpress based on a simple idea: Don’t reinvent the wheel.
Although there isn’t quite as much buzz about it anymore, the growing API economy is real. Businesses need to be able to securely expose more of their existing data and operations as REST services; however, resources and time to do so are always scarce.
And, you already have the functionality. You don’t want to rebuild it from scratch as a REST service.
