If you’ve been checking our open source site, exadel.org, you will have noticed that we recently updated Exadel JavaFX Plug-in for Eclipse to a new version, 1.3. With this release, there is now Eclipse support for the latest (April 2010) release of JavaFX, coincidentally enough, also version 1.3.
Once you’ve used the built-in Eclipse plug-in update facility to update or you’ve downloaded and installed the plug-in, it’s pretty straightforward to start tapping into JavaFX 1.3. After updating or installing the plug-in (and downloading the JavaFX 1.3 SDK, of course), select Window/Preferences/JavaFX/Installed JavaFX Runtimes from the menu bar and check the 1.3 version for JavaFX. (However, you can still use JavaFX 1.2.x with the new plug-in, if you have it and want to use it.) In this release of the plug-in, you have to complete things by restarting Eclipse, but in the next release of the plug-in you won’t have to.
