EclipseCon 2010
I was excited to attend this year’s EclipseCon on Wednesday (March 24) in Santa Clara, California. I had come out for the day from our nearby Concord office to take part in a panel titled “Benefiting from the Business Ecosystem Around BIRT: Case Studies and Resources” put on by our partners, Actuate, the people behind BIRT.
I was part of a panel discussion together with Vijay Ramakrishnan of Actuate and Prakash Aradhya of Red Hat. I presented a case study of how we used BIRT in a real-world enterprise application. I also talked about our new free JSF component library for incorporating BIRT functionality into Web applications, jsf4birt. Here’s the slide deck I used in the presentation.
As for the show, there were lots of other interesting topics covered in the talks, as usual. One thing I notice was that the organizers took a different approach to assembling the exhibition hall; this year it truly was a “hall” with setup in the corridors between conference rooms.
I can’t wait to see what next year’s EclipseCon will be like.

Hi Ian, I did like the new format, it was much more intimate.
